Index Team Visits Ani Private Resorts Dominican Republic

Some sunshine in February

2020 was a tough year for all in the tourism and hospitality industries - and with a new year on the horizon, we were all hopeful that things would turn more positive, and quickly... With that in mind, we were so excited to get down to Ani Private Resorts in the Dominican Republic to check in with the team and see first hand why they are such a perfect option for travelers NOW, as people begin to travel again.

Àni Private Resorts' unique business model means that all groups have everything that they could possibly want, and an experience that is totally tailored to their needs and wants. With staff being tested frequently prior to client arrivals, on-site testing for clients upon arrival and prior to departure (as many destinations are requiring this to return to their home countries), Àni leaves you feeling safe and tended to with all of your needs customized to fit your clients' desires.

We asked Tyler to give us a little insight into the trip, and some of his thoughts on the DR property…

Q: What makes Àni so unique?

Ani’s slogan is: IT’S ALL YOURS. And that is true across the board, where the staff is there for you, all of the amenities are yours and yours alone, and it feels like you are the owner of this property and your staff during your stay. It truly simplifies the villa experience, where you don’t need to outsource anything – that is one thing that truly makes Ani a special experience.

Q: Why is the Àni team so great to work with?

Flexibility. I cannot overstate how customized the experience is. The Ani team really works hard to ensure the guest gets the most out of their experience, and they often go above and beyond to make it happen. I think you’ll notice this in your first few communications with the team.

Q: Is travel to/from the airport included? Does the property offer trips/excursions?

Yes! One round-trip transfer is included in the rate. There are opportunities to visit other areas of the island, but in all honesty, the Ani experience at the DR tends to keep people close-by, enjoying the activities on property, or taking kayaks, paddleboards, or other available watersport options out on the water. That said, there are some great off-property excursions, such as surfing or deep sea fishing, that people often add on.

Q: What was your favorite meal while staying there?

Ah.. tough one. We had some fantastic meals. I’d have to say the lobster and steak was fantastic, but I always lean toward the local dish of any destination I visit. We had a cooking class with the chef, and I don’t want to be too boastful here, but I made a pretty good Mangú.. (an incredible local dish consisting of mashed plantain). Loved it!

Q: What are three words you would use to describe the view outside your window?

Possibilities. Peaceful. Rejuvenating.
